What people ask before they install PixilUI or pay for Pro.

## What is free?

All 11 components in the catalog today, under MIT. Install them, change them and ship them in anything you build, with no account.

## What does my app need?

React 19 and Tailwind v4. The shadcn CLI puts each item in components/pixilui, or you copy the files by hand; every page lists the packages an item needs. See [Installation](https://pixilui.com/docs/installation).

## Can my coding agent install them?

Yes. Every item has a markdown page, llms.txt covers the whole library, and the MCP server lets Claude Code, Cursor and other clients search and install from the chat. Free items need no login. See [AI and agents](https://pixilui.com/docs/ai-and-agents).

## Can I use an item without Tailwind?

Yes, for free components. Each one also ships as a single .tsx file with its styles inside, which needs React and motion and nothing else (Dialog, Drawer, Popover and Tooltip also need @base-ui/react). It is under Standalone on the item page.

## How do I change how an item looks?

Change the tokens in foundation.css for the whole library, pass className for one place, or style the data attributes items expose (data-status, data-risk). The source is yours, so you can also edit it, but an update then asks before overwriting your change. See [Theming](https://pixilui.com/docs/theming).

## Does the MCP server need an account?

Not for free items. Pro and Team connect the /mcp/pro address and log in in the browser once; CI and headless agents send an access token instead. See [MCP server](https://pixilui.com/docs/mcp).

## What do the CLI and the MCP server record?

The CLI sends one report per add or init run: the item names, the CLI version, the framework and whether it ran in CI; PIXILUI_TELEMETRY=0 or DO_NOT_TRACK=1 turns it off. The MCP server records each item it hands to your agent: the item name, its tier, that it came through MCP and the time, plus your account id and token id when you are logged in or send a token. Neither stores prompts, project names, paths or your IP address. See [Privacy](https://pixilui.com/privacy).

## What does lifetime mean?

You pay once and never again. Every Pro item that exists now and every one added later is yours to install, with every update, for as long as the library is kept.

## Do I get updates?

Free items update for everyone. Pro and Team get every update and every new Pro item for life; Pro yearly gets them while it is active. To update, run the same add command again: the CLI asks before overwriting a file you changed.

## How do Team seats work?

Team is $599 once for up to 10 people in one company. The owner sends one invite link, or invites each person by email, from the account page, and can remove a seat to give it to someone else. Pro and Pro yearly cover one person. See [Licence](https://pixilui.com/license).

## Can I move from Pro to Team?

Yes. Logged in with Pro, the Team plan on this page and on your account page costs less: the full Pro price is taken off the $599, whatever you paid for Pro. Everything you installed stays licensed.

## I paid with a different email. Where is my licence?

Bought while logged in, it is already on your account. Bought logged out, it waits for the email you paid with: log in with that email and it is there. If your account uses another address, enter the email you paid with under Licence on the account page; a code goes to that inbox and moves the licence over.

## Who takes the payment?

Our payment provider, which is the merchant of record: it takes the card, charges any tax your country needs and sends the receipt. We never see card numbers. Prices are in US dollars and shown before you pay. See [Terms](https://pixilui.com/terms).

## What about VAT and invoices?

The payment provider adds VAT or sales tax where it applies and puts it on your receipt, which you can download from your account page. Team can also be invoiced to your company: email hello@pixilui.com.

## What happens when Pro yearly ends?

Everything you installed stays licensed for the projects it is in, for good. New installs and updates stop until you renew at $129. You can cancel renewal at any time from the billing portal.

## Can I get a refund?

Yes. A full refund within 14 days if you have not installed or copied any Pro source. After that, a refund only when an item is broken and we cannot fix it within 14 days of your report. See [Refund policy](https://pixilui.com/refund).
