What BoardUI is good at

  • Dashboards and agent chat in one system: 19 charts, data tables, an app shell and a composer that agree on spacing, type and color.
  • A free tier that does real work: an MIT chat app with a streaming endpoint, thinking indicators and the Composer Loader.
  • Agent run narration in Pro: a streaming task list, a web search trail, step progress, context and plan limits, and plan-mode questions.
  • Agent setup: a CLI that writes agent rules, MCP over stdio and HTTP, an agent skill, and markdown twins of its docs.

What PixilUI adds

  • The decision moments: an approval card with a risk level, a note on reject and a receipt, and an agent inbox in Pro.
  • Tool calls as rows with a live timer and their input and output JSON, and a run timeline with a step that waits on an approval.
  • Two design styles, quiet and lively, from one token set.
  • A 14-day refund before any Pro source is installed.

Using both

BoardUI can carry the dashboards and the chat while PixilUI carries approvals, runs and tool calls. Each reads its own tokens, so keep one library per surface.

Questions

BoardUI or PixilUI?

BoardUI if you are building dashboards and an agent chat and want charts, tables and a composer from one system. PixilUI if the agent's decisions and records are the product: approvals with a risk level, runs with a waiting step, tool calls with their JSON, each with its states and keys on its page.

Does BoardUI include a Figma file?

Its site says every component is drawn in Figma first. The plans on its pricing do not list a Figma file, so ask BoardUI before buying for one.

Can BoardUI and PixilUI share a project?

Yes. Both ship source into your repo and both use Tailwind v4. BoardUI reads its own theme tokens and PixilUI reads foundation.css, so keep one library per surface.
